Dowling Introduction in New Jack Vance Study
Terry Dowling has written the Introduction to Jack Vance: Critical Appreciations and a Biography, edited by Arthur Cunningham, to be published by the British Library after Easter. For more information on the book see here.

Dowling in US Edition of Dreaming Down-Under
Jack Dann and Janeen Webb have sold US reprint rights to their World Fantasy Award winning anthology Dreaming Down-Under to Tor Books for a late 2000/early 2001. Dreaming Down-Under features Terry's story "He Tried to Catch the Light".

New "Rynosseros" Story Sold
Terry Dowling has sold new Tom Rynosseros story "Swordplay" to Sophie Masson to appear in her Arthurian anthology, The Way to Avalon. The anthology, which features writers who appeared at Grailquest in 1999, will be published later this year by Julie Bauer of JB Books. An interesting note, Terry had written this Tom story with its Arthurian connection before the Masson anthology was announced.

Antique Futures Wins 1999 Aurealis Award
Terry Dowling was presented with the special Convenor's Award for Excellence at the 1999 Aurealis Awards for Antique Futures: The Best of Terry Dowling. The Convenor's Award for Excellence is awarded annually to an outstanding work of science fiction, fantasy or horror created by an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Antique Futures is the first prose work to win the award.

Dowling's Blackwater Days Scheduled
Terry Dowling's new book, Blackwater Days, is to be published by Eidolon Publications in April 2000. For more information on Blackwater Days see here.

Dowling Works on Computer Game
For the last eight months, Terry has been working with Maciej Miasik and his Poland-based development team at L.K.Avalon on the story for the forthcoming computer adventure game Schizm: Mysterious Journey. Dowling Sells Audio Rights to NPR SF Radio Drama Series
Terry Dowling has sold audio rights to 1986 short story "The Only Bird in Her Name" to Yuri Rasovsky for Beyond 2000, a series of 26 one-hour dramatized radio adaptations of SF stories for The Hollywood Theater of the Ear. The programs, financed by a $200,000 grant from The National Endowment for the Arts to National Public Radio, will be hosted by Harlan Ellison and broadcast over NPR. They will be released as Dove Audio cassettes. For more information see here

Dowling Makes Ellison More Essential
According to www.harlanellison.com, Terry Dowling has edited a revised and expanded edition of The Essential Ellison for Morpheus Press. The new edition will cover 50 years of Ellison's career, and adds a new 16-piece section.

Dowling Nominated for 1999 Aurealis Awards
The nominations for the 1999 Aurealis Awards have been announced. Terry's story, "The View in Nancy's Window" from Interzone 146 has been nominated for Best Short Story, while Antique Futures has been shortlisted for the Convenor's Award. Winners will be announced in March in a ceremony to be held at The South Australian Writers' Centre.
